1. FiTech Supports Dakota Digital
FiTech now offers a new BIM module to add to their list of supported aftermarket EFI manufacturers. The BIM-01-2-FTCH fits new FiTech LS, TBI, and TCU applications.

The BIM-01-2-FTCH is designed to read the engine information from new FiTech EFI kits. This module is connected to the units with a supplied 2.5mm “Y” harness, allowing the handheld controller to remain functional.

It will collect and output the following information to Dakota Digital Instrument Systems.

2. Exhausting Solutions
ARP has developed a number of solutions for properly securing headers and eliminating exhaust leaks. These include a series of application-specific kits for most popular engines, plus “universal” kits to cover the rest.

Stud kits, which have specially designed “nut starter” noses, are preferred by many because of being able to accurately position gaskets and guide the header flanges into place.

Most are available in polished stainless steel or black oxide finished 8740 chromoly that are nominally rated at 180,000 psi, both fully 20 percent stronger than Grade 8 fasteners. A choice of hex or 12-point bolt heads or nuts is offered. Their compact design facilitates the use of socket wrenches in tight proximity to the tubes. Washers are included in the kits.

An additional benefit of the polished stainless steel is that it’s not affected by corrosion and extreme heat. For factory cast-iron exhaust manifolds, ARP offers both stainless and black bolts by size in five-packs that come in 0.250-inch increments to ensure getting the correct length.

ARP also manufactures specially drilled “NASCAR” header bolts that facilitate safety wiring. All are made in-house at ARP’s California facilities.

3. A-Pillar Posts for ’68-70 Dodge Plymouth B-Bodies
Auto Metal Direct (AMD) announced the launch of their all-new Outer Windshield A-Pillar Posts for ’68-70 Dodge Plymouth B-body models. This A-pillar post is the first in a set of components AMD has developed for the Mopar B-body A-pillars (PN 375-1468-1L, driver side; PN 375-1468-1R, passenger side).

The new A-Pillar Posts are engineered to be an exact match for the original equipment, ensuring a seamless fit for models, including the Dodge Charger, Coronet, Super Bee, Plymouth Belvedere, GTX, Road Runner, Satellite, and Superbird.

This release marks the first in a new line of roof structure components from AMD designed for the B-body models, with additional parts slated for release in the coming months. As always, AMD’s new products will meet the company’s high standards of accuracy and quality.

4. Power to the Ignition
PerTronix now offers a great combination by taking two of their most popular products and combining them in one package for the optimal pairing. The Ignition Power Package (PN 510C) includes the Digital HP Capacitive Discharge Ignition Box and a Flame Thrower III Canister Coil. These two products work together to provide more power, faster starts, higher rpm range, and quicker acceleration.

Digital HP Ignition Box
The Digital HP Ignition Box delivers 172 mJ of Spark Energy and features an integrated three-step digital REV limiter delivering multiple spark all the way to redline. Key features also include an rpm-triggered output, adjustable start retard, locking automotive connector, tachometer output lead, and onboard error logging all in an ultra-small form factor. Download the “Specification Sheet” for all the details.

Flame Thrower III Canister Coil
The ignition coil of your engine is responsible for producing a high voltage (45,000 V) spark eight times (on a V-8) for every revolution of the camshaft. Charges to peak current typically 30-70 percent faster than other coils.

High-voltage canister coils allow larger spark plug gap for added power, smoother response, and improved fuel economy.
