Ron Cambra announced that Reid’s Rod Parts is officially part of the Cambra Speed Shop family. “We will no longer be using the Reid’s Rod Parts name but we will continue to offer the same service and selection of performance parts you need at the awesome deals we have secured with our manufacturers,” Cambra says.

Since taking over the traditional hot rod parts store a few years back, Cambra has focused on expanding the line offerings to modern performance parts, tools, and accessories. The shop is one of the few true Speed Shops in Orange County, California, offering installation and maintenance services. Cambra Speed Shop can have up to nearly 20 hot rods at any given time in the shop.

red gear icon Goodguys to Give Away an ’88 Chevy Silverado With Custom Roadster Shop Chassis
Goodguys announced it has teamed up with the Roadster Shop for its 2022-2023 Goodguys giveaway vehicle program, which is a custom ’88 Chevy Silverado. Following the unveiling of the completed truck at the Goodguys 24th Summit Racing Nationals on July 10, 2022, the giveaway truck will be on display at all remaining Goodguys events until the winner of the truck is announced at the same Columbus, Ohio, event in 2023.

The restomod ’80s-themed truck will be thoroughly customized inside and out by Roadster Shop and incorporate products from many of the leading aftermarket manufacturers that display at Goodguys events.

“Our goal with this Silverado build is to celebrate the new 25-year eligibility that will open our gates to the massive community of collector cars from the late ’80s and ’90s. This is just one step in the evolution of our events that will help highlight new trends and attract a new generation of builders and enthusiasts to our shows,” Andrew Ebel, COO of Goodguys Rod & Custom Association, says.

The rolling 25-year cutoff, which takes effect beginning with the first event of the 2022 Goodguys schedule, now allows owners of newer classic and custom American and American-powered vehicles. For the Goodguys 2022 national event series, this new rule allows any vehicle from 1997 or prior to be eligible to participate all weekend long, not just during Meguiar’s All-American Sunday.

The 2021-2022 Goodguys giveaway vehicle, an ’85 Chevrolet C10 Squarebody built by Goolsby Customs, customized with a Chevrolet Performance LT1 crate engine from Pace Performance, Gearstar 4L65E transmission, and a custom paintjob using BASF materials, will be given away the day after the debut of the Silverado OBS giveaway vehicle at the 2022 Goodguys Summit Racing Nationals, presented by PPG, on Sunday July 10, 2022.
