2. 9-inch Housing for A-Bodies
Ridetech has expanded its Ford 9-inch Rear Axle Housings to include 1964-72 GM A-body applications using current Ridetech four-link systems. Installing a Ridetech four-link into your first- or second-generation A-body has just become easier. These axle housings are perfect for building a Pro Touring classic, as they arrive with the four-link and sway bar brackets already welded to the housing, making the installation completely bolt-in.

These durable 9-inch Ford housings provide a strong foundation for putting torque to the pavement. They feature a webbed centersection with internal gussets, 1/4-inch wall, 3-inch-diameter tubes, and billet steel flanges (new style bearing/Torino). The pinion is offset 1 inch, and the axle flange is offset 2-1/2 inches. Stock and narrowed axle widths are available to suit mini-tubbed applications. The included 31-spline axles are heat-treated from 1541H alloy, with a 5×4.75 bolt pattern and grade 8.5×2 wheel studs. Timken SET20 bearings are pressed onto the axles, which also include the bearing retaining plates. Fitment includes 1964-72 GM Chevelle, Buick Skylark, Buick GSX, Oldsmobile Cutlass, Oldsmobile 4-4-2, Pontiac GTO, and Chevrolet El Camino.

3. Ball Joints and Tie Rod Ends
Early Ford and Pontiac hot rodders now have high-performance steering solutions from Rare Parts. The company has released the Diamond Series Ball Joint, tailored explicitly for 1957-64 Ford vehicles, and the Diamond Series Tie Rod Ends for 1965-70 Pontiac models.

The Diamond Series Ball Joint features a forged housing made from a single piece of heat-treated forged steel, replacing the original stamped design with a significantly stronger alternative. Its hardened stud enhances durability and wear characteristics, promising years of reliable performance. Internally, it employs an all-steel construction with a powder-metal bearing to ensure smooth steering operations. To further enhance longevity, the ball joint is coated with Manganese Phosphate, offering exceptional resistance to corrosion and rust. An easy-to-grease design, equipped with a standard zerk fitting, makes maintenance straightforward and effective.

Meanwhile, the Diamond Series Tie Rod Ends are crafted at Rare Parts’ U.S. machine shop using high-quality U.S. steel. Each tie-rod end is constructed with an all-steel internal structure, featuring a hardened steel slipper bearing and a heat-treated stud. Pre-greased internal components enhance longevity, and greaseable zerk fittings simplify regular upkeep. These tie-rod ends are vital for maintaining proper alignment and enabling smooth steering, making them essential for any restoration project.

Both products undergo stringent in-house inspection to ensure quality and precise fitment, meeting or exceeding OE standards. They not only fill gaps in parts availability for classic vehicles but also offer upgrades that enhance performance and reliability.
