Preferred Seating: Monte Carlo customers can choose between the TMI Pro-Series Lowback or Highback Pro-Series. Both seats can be equipped with removable headrests. Seat adjustments are easy thanks to reclining seatbacks and sliding tracks. Made with top-quality cover materials, these seats are 100 percent bolt-in with the appropriate mounting brackets. Personalization is key; a wide variety of patterns, colors, materials, and contrast stitching is available. Also offered is the Full-Length Console that can be optioned with a shifter cutout and paired with one or two cup holders without a cutout.
The 1986-1987 rear seat reuses the existing factory seat frame and is available with or without a console. Door Dash: The door panels, interior quarter-panels, and dashpad are also receiving TMI’s attention. TMI’s molded door panels have been created to be direct-fit upgrades to the OEM pieces. The door panels are constructed of lightweight fiberglass that is then upholstered with vinyl or suede in the same pattern and colorway as the seats. The rear interior quarter-panels are constructed from a Masonite panel and upholstered to match. The dashpads start with a molded fiberglass core wrapped in quality color-matched vinyl and attaches over the existing dash with hook-and-loop fasteners.
From the Bottom Up part of TMI’s Monte Carlo interior overhaul includes trunk carpet, floor mats, headliners, and visors. The multi-panel trunk kits include fender panels, a rear divider (behind the rear seats), an inner panel that fits around the trunk latch, a trunklid cover, and a carpet that is color-matched to the cabin. The panels themselves are constructed of durable yet flexible chipboard covered in quality vinyl and are fashioned to directly mirror the interior pattern, with some styles even including chrome molding. Trunk kits are designed to complete any interior installation. One of the biggest areas of need is the headliner, which is a direct-fit replacement. Completing the headliner installation, sunvisors are constructed in-house with a vinyl outer cover and a strong, flexible, and durable inner core. They are designed to fit into the stock mounting location.
